Quiet here, for a few. . .

I will confess to you, with much trepidation, quiet is hard for me right now. So much going on in my heart and head, that lies, misbeliefs and fears fly around like bats in a tight, dark, damp, cave. (Lovely, image, huh!) But with Kathleen here with me, I had more courage to slow down and enjoy her presence. It is in the safe place of prayer for my children, I can lift, place, surrender, shift, trust, lean, press, hope into God’s hands with our intimate needs. I am so passionate about praying my children forward, I feel the tears welling in my eyes. Today, I had a special privilege. Kathleen and I were alone in the house, so it was very quiet. She came back to study with me for a while and then cuddled up to go to sleep next to me. Kathleen Napping I was shopping etsy (vintage/valentine) and I felt the Lord nudge me. “Cover her, He said,” “She is covered and warm with me.” “You know what I mean, He said.” “Oh, of course, perfect opportunity!”I pulled out my phone and on my screen I have saved what you will see below. I pressed Kathleen’s name into each Verse as it impressed my heart with deep, motherly love for my “baby girl.” (12 years old is not a baby!) I claimed each Truth as Victory in her life. I tooled the words for her to cover her in a close embrace formed to fit her future. Then I surrendered workings, in Trust, His Hand with His Truth and My empowered love. See bottom of article for direct link.

I feel lead to ask you a tough question, how different would our world be today, if we covered our children with love weighted in prayer???

And I quote:
These are scriptures to pray over children. When I wrote Praying for the Children, I actually had my children in mind.

I wanted to cover them in prayer before they go off into the world alone. I wanted them to be able to make the right decisions, and stay away from all that was evil. I then realized that all children was included in the prayer.

You can also pray these scriptures for your unborn child. If you would like to pray for a specific child, just replacing the word children will personalize it.

It’s a Day to Celebrate: Another Birthday!

Today,January 18 (My Blog was on the wrong time zone!)  Hope, my oldest daughter is 24 years old. What an amazing young woman in her faith, her perseverance and her loyalty. I am so proud of her, and not in the least bit, biased in any way! At some point in high school, Hope ran across the poem, Footprints in the Sand, and it became very special to her. We’ve spent a lot of time at the beach as a family, so the scene with her Jesus is a place very near and dear to her heart! I found this new version recently, and so I share it with you, to honor her and celebrate her 24 birthday. We moms are very partial to our children’s birthdays. It’s a celebration of the day you gave birth to their life. Amazing gift in the depth, width and breadth of love.

FootPrints: Revised

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord’s footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.

But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures and returns.

For much of the way it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord’s soon, paralleling His consistently.

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!
This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens.

Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.

This goes on for miles of your life, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.

Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints. They have become one.

This goes on for what seems a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back.
This time is seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.

You are amazed and shocked. Just short of despair, you dream ends.

Now you pray:

Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian. I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You.

“That is correct.”

“And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your Steps, following You very closely.”

Very good. You have understood everything so far.”

When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way.”

“So, Lord, was there a regression or something? What did I do wrong? The footprints separated and this time it was much worse than at first.”
There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.

“You didn’t know? It was then that we danced.”

Author Unknown: (If you know, please let me know 🙂

Hope, always remember you were made to dance with your Lord. I love you more than you can ever, ever, ever imagine, mom

Horizon Hit: Huge Secret Recipe Give Away

The Post is dedicated to my dear friend Claudia. . .She gave me this recipe and it is one of the most requested recipes I’ve ever done. . .And, yes, it could not be simpler! Ah!!! Mummy! It’s been requested by women’s groups, football managers, numerous sleep overs. I secretly believe it is one of the reasons they keep coming back so by giving it away, I’m afraid they will go to your house instead! But it seems so selfish to keep something so yummy and so easy and so fun to myself. So here we go. . .

Ham Rolls (Great for breakfast or brunch!)
Sister Shubert Rolls (Plain)
Thinly Sliced Ham
Splenda Brown Sugar
Margarine or Butter
Kitchen Scissors

1. Let Rolls Thaw Slightly
2. On large cutting board, turn rolls on their side and slide through carefully so you have two thin halves.
3. On underside of top half, liberally spread butter or margarine on bread, covering completely.
4. On inside of bottom half, layer two layers of thin ham slices to cover all.
5. Sprinkle brown sugar over ham, lightly to moderately.
6. Place buttered half on top of ham and brown sugar.
7. Place back in pan.
8. Butter top lightly.
9. Cut rolls in between with kitchen scissors so they pull out easy without taking all your ham with one roll:)
10. Cover with foil and put back into plastic wrap.
If using the next day, place in frig and bake on 350 until browned. (About 20 to 30 minutes when bread is thawed 🙂
Best part is this is a gem to freeze. Do every thing the same just, write ham rolls and the date on it and you are ready with a great brunch item, last minute sleep over, etc. If frozen, they take longer to bake, more like 45 minutes but still delicious!

Thank you  Claudia for sharing, you’ve warmed many a happy tummy with your sharings!
Now all of you have it too, enjoy, but still direct people back to MY house, please 😉

Is It An Answer?

Psalm 4:3

Answers?! The educator my dad left as a legacy in my DNA, LOVES a good question. I love to ask them and see wheels turning outside a thought life box and I love to have them poised before me like a carrot before the nose of a horse 🙂

So, I asked a friend a question. . .”Do you experience grace from me?” (Great vulnerable/authentic question right? I was so proud of myself :)) She had the WISDOM TO ANSWER MY QUESTION, WITH A QUESTION! She asked, “Do you feel grace in our communion?” Okay, so now, I’m challenged, appropriately and lovingly challenged. Thank you friend for your Truth spoken in trusted love!

So, we ask many questions in our prayers! I’m sure I’m in God’s stack of “Question Overload, research and get back to her!) JK. Jesus often answered questions with a question. (Wisdom does that sometimes! ;)) Matthew 15:32-34 (NIV) 33 His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?” 34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.

Explore this link for a really great article on this concept, http://mondaymorningreview.wordpress.com/2010/06/01/jesus-answering-questions-with-questions/

Okay, so let’s talk, heart to heart. . .how does God answer us? Do we miss the answer because it is not what we expected? Do we REALLY EXPECT an answer? What can answers “look like?” Do we let God out of our little box when it comes to answers? Do we believe HIS answer is worth the wait?

Have you noticed, I’m not going to give you an answer? II don’t have your answer. . .. I have my own experiences with answers, and yes they are often well placed, challenging questions. So ask yourself some good solid questions about God and HIS answers. . .Please tell us what you come up with. . .We will all grow from your experiences. . .Let’s make your response easy. . .a fill-in-the-blank. . ..

God’s Answers to me are. . . . Hit the comment button and tell us. . .(it won’t hurt much, I promise :))

Surely, you know by now, I am much more interested in your thought/prayer life than my own. I live with me, very boring! But you, now we are talking. . .that’s highly intriguing to myself and the other readers. . .So let’s see how many of you will respond. . .Come on give me a word or two. . .It will be good for you and it will BLESS ME!

Sunday Showcase of Truth: January 13, 2013

Matthew 25:34

Blueletterbible.com (direct link :))  has an easy to use research tool, called Strong’s Number Concordance which allows us to look up original meaning in the Old Testament in Hebrew or in Greek with the New Testament. It will give a “transliteration,” which is the English translation of the Hebrew of Greek original word. To look up the original meaning adds depth and understanding to the verse. I love to do that with verses God highlights!

Today, I looked up “kingdom” in the original Greek meaning. The English transliteration is “basileia.” Lexicon Results: Strong’s G932. It means royal power, kingship, dominion, rule: not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom. We are to inherit “kingship” and dominion to rule.

Our other beautiful gifts for His Glory and your life in God’s Word. . . .

Special Dedication: Birthday! It Only Takes a little fluff to sweeten our communion!

To my dear brother- in -law, Don. I wish him blessings, today and always. I’d like to share a very private moment in our Blog here. . .Don is married to my dear Lu, Lucie, my sister. Who was 14 years old when I was born. (Yes I was a “surprise”). I had two sets of “parents” in that my brother was sixteen when I was born. Hi TOBY!

Anyway, back to Don. Don has been so good to my sister and our whole family. Years ago now, Don was very sick and in the hospital. I flew to be with them after his surgery. Lucie, had left the room to get a nurse, and I stood at his bedside.

I remember praying, “Dear God, I don’t understand the power and mystery of prayer. I know you hear me right now. I can see my brother-in-law struggling for healing. Here I stand healthy and such love for this dear man in my sister’s life. Surely, I can offer him, part of my life, my health, my strength. Take from me now what can give him a edge over this fight for life. I willingly give to Don what he needs.” My head bowed in silent prayer, earnest hope for God to transfer some spark of my life to this dear man.

I did not feel anything. I trusted God could use my love to move his life. I felt contented that my offering would be used in the Hand’s of a God that uses all things, in us, for good. I’ve never shared this before, with anyone. It will be new for Lu and Don as well.

There is a time to hold and wait and then to is a time to share with open, humble hands.. To move the prayer of our lives from the closet to the dinner table as communion. So I offer this moment with Don and Lu as communion at a table where we “CELEBRATE HIS LIFE!”

Our friend, and brother-in-law, Don. . .we celebrate how very special you are to all of us, and especially to me 🙂
Happy, Happy Birthday! Thank you for who you are in our family and in my life! “Ding Dong” I’m at the threshold of your life, miles away, hands full of “goodies!” . . ..Including to Lu’s dismay, a dozen jars of marshmallow creme for our peanut and butter and marshmallow sandwiches!

Lu, go buy this man some “fluff” for his birthday! Make a grilled sandwich (real butter!), with peanut butter, fluff, sliced bananas and chocolate chips
“and this sprinkle, “love”  powdered sugar on top! We love you, our Don! 🙂

Friendship From a Different Country

In friendship, we are all from “different countries!”
It’s not about “where” we live. (Hi UK readers!)
We all speak different languages that are as unique as our perspectives.
“What would your friendships “look like” If:
1.You entered each and every friendship conversation excited about learning a new “life language?”
2. You listened (listen more than you speak!) for their unique language?
I mean really listen, without assumptions of their intent?
(Our Lord refers to these “assumptions, as “vain imaginings” 2 Corinthians 10:5)
3. Ask open ended, non-judgemental questions like. . . “Help me understand? Can you tell me more?”
4.Expect misunderstandings will occur between the two of you because your languages are different. Do not take it personally. Seek clarity, not offense.
5.Accept no one will ever reflect your “love language” in friendship. There is only one you.
6.Learn the “heart language of another” and enrich your Kingdom preparation for your Lord and your life travels on the map of friendship.
The Holy Trinity: Father God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Three distinct “personalities” with perfect friendship unity. I suspect their “languages of love” are “from different countries.”
God, “Misunderstanding worked against Adam and Eve after they brought sin into My Garden of Perfection.”
Jesus, “I worked hands on for thirty-three years to unite beyond the law with a heart of love.”
“Holy Spirit, “I’m always on the move in ebbs and flows in relationships: life-giving counsel and understanding prompts in Truth.”

The Destiny of Misunderstanding is Intimacy.
P.S. Do I, practice any of these things? On a good day, I’ll get one of them into God’s hands. 😉
