I posted a post on the Mitchell Family Amazon Adventure a few weeks ago. This is a great follow up with the Mitchell’s photos and their account of their adventure God anointed for His Glory. Thank you, Jeff and Edie for sharing your pictures and experiences with us. If you are interested in investing in this trip or in going, leave me a comment and I’ll connect you with the administrators.
This post is dedicated to the Mitchell Family and their Kingdom Investment in the Amazon.
Amazon Outreach Trip-Mitchell Family Update-9-17 February, 2013
Thanks for supporting us with prayers, supplies for the trip, and financially. Your investments reaped dividends.
I asked each of our family to write out what was most meaningful to them about our trip, and here is what they said…
Edie-“Amazon Outreach provided on opportunity to see firsthand why God loves all the nations—who are poor, and needy, and have not heard the story of Jesus. They were truly humble, grateful, and receptive people. The Brazilian Team (Interpreters/Staff/Pastors) were great examples of God’s love and sacrifice. I will be forever changed due to this Amazon trip.”
Lauren, who co-led the trip with Keith Carmon, said, “I saw the Lord’s faithfulness, when you trust in Him. I was able to meet others needs, and to show them that they are valued, and that Christ loves them. I was able to focus on the Lord and see that He is enough. He showed me new truth about Himself. I shared the love and hope and joy of Jesus with the children, by just being with them.”
Ben-“This was the most meaningful spiritual experience I have ever experienced. I loved the heart of servant hood of the team with whom we were able to work. I loved the humility of the people. I loved the connection with the five of us as a family as we served together. “ Ben crowned off the trip on the last evening, by being baptized at sunset in the Amazon River.
Jonathan-“I loved spending time with Brazilian people, whom are simple, who have little need, but have such a hunger to know God. I loved being able to share Christ with people whom so openly received Him. It was a blessing spending an entire week on a boat with 20 great people and seeing them all changed for God’s glory.
Jeff-“It was fun for me to be led by His Spirit to share specific things that impacted people with revelation, salvation, and restoration/healing. The Brazilians are simple, beautiful, and receptive people. I want to be more like them. I loved watching my whole family being a blessing and sharing the love of Christ abroad. The interpreters and missions team of Amazon Outreach are true servants and have a heart for their people. The week was crowned off by being able to baptize my son, Ben, and one other lady that went on the trip with us.”
An excellent trip and one I would highly recommend.
You chose wisely to invest in our trip and we are eternally grateful.
