Paul Young, in His Book, Cross Roads, begins with this quote. . .
The apostle tells us that “God is love,” and therefore, seeing he is an infinite being, it follows that he is an infinite fountain of love. Seeing he is an all-sufficient being, it follows that he is a full and overflowing, and inexhaustible fountain of love. And in that he is an unchangeable and eternal being , he is an unchangeable and eternal fountain of love. ~ Jonathan Edwards
I’m watching, Tony, in his hurt, confused struggle, stand up to himself as this chapter unfolds. When I read, I watch books like a movie playing out in my mind. Page 188. I don’t think I could stand up to a sugar ant right now. I’m going to keep reading, because I am sure I’m going to find a way to stand up to myself too. One minute, one hour or one day or at some point from now, I’ll demand that love will have it’s victory. Even if, it is through hot, angry tears.
Love is created to have it’s victory. Right God? I’m watching for it.
