How did that affect you? Perhaps one day when Jesus comes again, we all ascend into the air in a beautiful display of God’s Glory. I disappear into my calling in places like this, I fall into the sacred in the secular. Maybe melt is a better term. My first movie theater experience was The Sound of Music. My mother took me at three years old and she said, I did not move. She kept checking me to make sure I was still breathing, I was so still. My oldest daughter Hope and I share this same heart composure with music. She sent this to me last night on a study break. (Okay, so she has a wide variety of interests: Hedge Hogs to Disney!) She has a sweet, musical heart.
Fog. It’s just misery. We cannot see where we are going, cannot gather our bearings, and the cold, dampness of it blankets us in a chill to our bones. Truth is we are in a fog, heading out of a fog or heading into one. It’s just one of the weather conditions of our heart world. We navigate is with great challenge. We are not meant to do it alone. We need a compass to find our true north.
The compass is His Light.
“And at last I see the light
And it’s like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it’s like the sky is new
And it’s warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you”
I am a romantic at heart, I am a Disney Girl. But this goes far beyond Disney, even their creative genius, does not touch the Glory to which we are made. I’m calling out to you from my dense fog. It is what it is. I am not walking it alone. (Thank you friends and family that love me so well, with supporting Team Tracey at the upcoming ALS walk, meals, cards, prayers, smiles, projects, Bible Studies, text messages :), happies, flowers. . .) My foggy world shifts because of His workings through you.
If I could right now, in the midst of your fog, I’d look you right in the eyes and tell you, this is not your reality in Christ. The fog is a temporary worldly heart condition.
Your reality is one day the fog will lift and your sky is new. Revelation 21:5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
Your reality is the light we see in His Word and in each other. Ephesians 5:8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord, walk as children of Light.
Your reality is somehow your world has shifted, now that you see Jesus. Matthew 6:6 The Message “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.
Now, my world and his world and her world is Disney perfect. Hardly! 😦 This amazing youtube, reminds us : “It’s warm, it’s real, it’s bright.” I don’t know the when, where nor how of my worldly shift or yours.
But I do know to expect it’s coming. Right here, right now in our quiet, secluded place, I won’t role play. I’ll be as simple and honest as I can manage and shift our focus to God.
“Dearest Papa, I get so cold in this fog. Honestly, I hate it. I long for warm, bright light. I’m drawn into the beauty of this video because that reflects the reality for which you created me. Make things new in me, and may I “walk” as a child of YOUR LIGHT, no matter my circumstance. In Your Son’s Name, Amen and Amen””
