“The prayer closet is the arena which produces the overcomer.” — Paul E. Billheimer
Good Morning Jesus, prayer has been my struggle point as of late. Wrestling with it with sweat pouring down my face is more like it! You and I both know, this will not be the first or last time, I’ll tussle with this part of my faith life. I’ve been wanting my victory. Answers that look like I want them to look. Answers that give my definition of healing. Answers that are about me. I am at a point in prayer, that I need you to pivot me, so I see more righteously!
3 Pivot Points in Prayer:
The truth is the answers are God’s Vision.
The truth is the answers embrace more than me.
The truth is the answers to prayer are Kingdom Big.
Jesus, As Kingdom big answers are beyond my understanding, You allow me to experience the answers to prayers intimately.
It’s not what I asked for on my “Christmas List.”
Jesus, could these be GOD’s answers as I pivot my prayers from me to point to HIM???
the silken touch of a daughter’s hair, fresh for school
a sip of cold water in the middle of the night, husband’s hand
an insistent offer for a meal
a post comment that encourages me
|“Thank you for your obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit”|
a movie that speaks my heart language (The Agony And The Ecstasy)
time to read a book or have a book read to me (The Scent of Water)
a family dinner, my recipe, laughter and kind words (Ham Squares)
a lit candle (High Maintenance by Tyler)
worship music that get’s me through, into and out of myself (Always Be A Child/Ray Boltz)
scrambled eggs (warm by a daughter’s hand)
a warm towel or blanket (I am very sensitive to cold)
a red-headed woodpecker at my bird cake feeder
Thank you Jesus for all who enter their prayer closets for me and my family. Help me find the intimacy of prayer than enables me to be an “overcomer.” I need my thought life to know prayer produces beyond my wants. I need my heart life to embrace prayer as you design it. I need my spirit life to walk my prayer to spread Your Glory. May I always be aware of the privilege your life, death and resurrection created for our prayers to enter His Throne Room.

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners [a]so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
