Wet Witness to Prayer

A dear old friend, Claudia, dropped a new book on prayer in my mailbox. She told me it had been very special to her, and when I opened the golden edged pages, I could feel the warmth of the Holy Spirit embrace me.

She had marked a page for me.

The Children Prayer

As I began to pray, placing the names of my girls in the prayer, I was so moved by the reaching power of these words, that I cried all the way through it the first  reading. I don’t lump all of them together, as it “appears” here, I offer it through individually. I have a feeling the Holy Spirit can “collate and sort prayers” but for the sake of my own attention span and a space to settle into scared space with each child, I offer each one separately! God anointed this prayer with my wet witness to His Faithful Love. Will you join me in His Throne Room, on our knees, pressing hard into God’s promises for our children? Building a Kingdom, one cathedral heart at a time?

What is a “wet witness?”

It is the greatest weight of Glory I know to give My Lord with the holy heart sealant of my tears. It refers to the eternal empowerment held in

Prayers that avail much by Germaine Copeland

The Children

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray and confess Your Word over Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen and surround them with my faith ~ faith in Your Word that You watch over it to perform it! I confess and believe that  Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean and Hope are each disciples of Christ, taught of the Lord and obedient to Your will. Great is the peace and undisturbed composure of Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen, because You, God, contend with that which contends with my children, and You give them safety and ease them.

Father, You will perfect that which concerns me. I commit and cast the care of Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen once and for all over on You Father.  Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean and Hope are in Your hands, and I am positively persuaded that You are able to guard and keep that which I have committed to You. You are more than enough!

I confess that Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean and Hope obey their parents in the Lord as His representatives, because this is just and right. My children Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen honor, esteem, and value as precious their parents, for this is the first commandment with a promise: that all may be well with Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen and that they may live long on this earth. I believe and confess that Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen choose life and love You, Lord, obey and cling to You, for You are their Life and the Length of their days. Therefore, Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen are the head and not the tail, and they shall be above only and not beneath. Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean and Hope are blessed when they come in and when they go out.

I believe and confess that You give Your angels charge over Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan and Kathleen to accompany and defend and preserve them in all their ways. You, Lord, are their Refuge and Fortress. You are their Glory and the Lifter of their precious heads.

As mom, I will not provoke, irritate, or fret Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean or Hope. I will not be hard on them or harass them or cause them to become discouraged, sullen or morose or to feel inferior and frustrated. I will not break or wound Hope, Sean, Ashlyn, Megan or Kathleen’s spirit’s, but will rear them tenderly in the training, discipline, counsel, and admonition of the Lord. I will train them in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it.

O Lord, my Lord, how excellent (majestic and glorious) is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory on or above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and unweaned infants You have established strength because of Your foes, that You might silence the enemy and the avenger. I sing praises to Your name, O Most High. The enemy is turned back from Kathleen, Megan, Ashlyn, Sean and Hope in the name of Jesus! Each of them increase in wisdom and in favor with God and man. Amen and Amen and Amen

  1. Tracey, I am so moved and humbled by your faith and love. Thanks for “sharing” my book with me. I, also, feel the HS moving when I read it. It’s God’s Word. I figure if the Holy Spirit uses The Word as a sword to battle and defend, I can, too. And so, I get out the book and go to battle.

You’ve been stilled but not beaten. Your heart and your love and your prayers are the most important part of you and the very strongest.

Love to you, praying sister. Claudia
